Students who have exceeded the intermediate/early advanced level in piano may receive
an exemption from this requirement through an audition administered by the piano faculty.
A letter from the department chair will serve as certification of a successful audition
and the authorized exemption. Students exempted from this requirement will receive
course credit, but not unit credit. Any of the degree-applicable elective music courses
may substitute for those units.
